GOA UNIVERSITY HOLDS 25TH ANNUAL CONVOCATION

Bambolim: Goa University held the 25^th Annual Convocation on 2^nd of February 2013 in the Jubilee hall of the University. His Excellency the Governor of Goa Shri Bharat Vir Wanchoo, also the Chancellor of the Goa University presided over the function. Professor Goverdhan Mehta, Natural Research Professor in the Central University of Hyderabad, the Vice Chancellor of Goa University Shri Satish Shetye, the Registrar Shri V. P. Kamat and Deans of respective faculties were also present on the dais. The programme began with the Convocation procession entering the hall which was followed by a welcome song by the students of the University.

The function then proceeded with the declaration by the Chancellor to confer the degrees upon the students who have fulfilled the requirements according to the University rules. The doctorate degrees and prizes and medals were also awarded to the deserving candidates. This was followed by the address of the Vice Chancellor, Shri Satish Shetye. Prof Goverdhan Mehta delivered the Convocation Address soon after the Vice Chancellor’s Address. The gathering was then addressed by His Excellency the Governor of Goa and Chancellor of Goa University Shri Bharat Vir Wanchoo. The function dissolved by the declaration by the Governor after the Presidential Address. Ms. Priyadarshini Tadkodkar, Head of Department of Konkani, Goa University and Dr. Rafael Fernandes, Associate Professor, Department of English, Goa University compered the function.
